Flu shots given in our offices are supplied by the State of New Hampshire to children under the age of 19. There is no charge for the vaccine because the insurance carriers pay for the vaccine that the state distributes. We charge only for the administration of the vaccine. The administration charge will be submitted to valid insurance carriers for reimbursement and are subject to any applicable co-pays, deductibles and co-insurance per your policy.
It is our understanding that flu shots given by urgent care centers and pharmacies are not supplied by the state and therefore a patient can be charged for the vaccine as well as the administration.
If your child qualifies for state vaccines your insurance carrier may not pay for a charge submitted by a facility supplying a private vaccine. This is an issue you should address before going to a pharmacy or urgent care facility.
We will have a private supply of vaccines for those who do not qualify for state supply.
College students may have the ability to receive flu vaccine through their schools and should check with their student health departments.
We will not authorize referrals for flu shots to any outside facility.
